The Hawaii Animal Sanctuary is A No-Kill Shelter that specializes in caring for abused, abandoned, handicapped and terminally ill animals. A safe haven is provided for as many animals as their resources allow.
You can help the Hawaii Animal Sanctuary raise money to fund their day to day operations. This is an all volunteer organization. Their only source of funding is from donations from people who care. Would you like to join our growing group of 'care to save' donors?
The guests/residents at the Sanctuary, affectionately called 'the Gang', are usually with the Sanctuary for their life time. Adoption is encouraged but most people want fuzzy and friendly perfect kittens. Unfortunately, even though most of the 'the Gang' at the Sanctuary are friendly and long for attention, they are not adopted. Thus, the Sanctuary has a constantly growing number of lonely souls looking for daily food and care.
The majority of the Gang is free to roam in this location with many places available for an afternoon snooze under a tree, curled up in a basket, or stretched out in the sun. "Don't fence me in!" is their motto.
The Sanctuary also has a hospital ward where any of the Gang in need can recover or are given a comfortable place to eat and sleep until they pass on.
The Hawaii Animal Sanctuary has been in operation since 1994. It's President and major care giver has been involved in pet and animal rescue and care for many years prior.
