About H.A.S.

HAS is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. We depend on monetary donations to keep the sanctuary operating efficiently, as well as contributions of food, medicine, and numerous other supplies that ensure the animals’ well being, happiness, and overall quality of life.

Our wish list is long:

Cat, dog, rabbit ,chicken, pig and fish food.   Kitty litter, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, and bleach.  Towels, cat furniture, dog houses, cages & pens. Animal toys, stuffed toys, dogs collars, and leashes.  Building supplies and lawn equipment are among our many needs.
Also needed are volunteers to assist with daily animal care, grounds maintenance, and general handiman help.  Also participants in our fundraising operations would be greatly appreciated.
Do you only have an hour or two a month you can spare?  We'll take it!  Every bit of help, either in person or in the form of a monetary donation can make a big difference!
Won’t you please help us to help the many animals in Hawaii who desperately need a home?

HAS needs the support of the many responsible and humane people who are concerned about the animal welfare in Hawaii.

The Hawaii Animal Sanctuary... a haven for homeless, abused, abandoned and unwanted animals.

H.A.S., located on Oahu, is a place where animals get a new lease on life. Every animal brought to us “HAS” a chance to live out its life in a caring environment.

Evolving as an animal refuge since 1990, the one-acre sanctuary is now the home to several hundred cats, a number of dogs, rabbits and other creatures.

No-kill and re-homing policies are practiced. All animals are spayed and neutered in an effort to prevent further pet overpopulation in Hawaii.

H.A.S. volunteers provide nourishment, accommodation, medical care and exercise, as well as loving attention to our animal family.

Responsible animal ownership is promoted, and as many animals as possible are adopted to loving homes with the promise that the animals are returned to the sanctuary if the new owners are unable to care for them.
